A compelling AI demo is a starting point. A useful product begins with a problem that matters to someone. Before choosing a model or designing an interface, describe the job your customer is trying to get done.

Start with a specific customer Choose one role, one workflow, and one recurring frustration. Ask people to walk you through the last time they faced that problem. Listen for the tools they used and the workarounds they created.

Test the smallest useful outcome A small prototype or a manual service can reveal whether the proposed outcome is valuable. Be clear about what is automated and where a person is still involved.

Decide what you need to learn Will someone use the result in their existing workflow? Can they check whether it is correct? Would they return to use it again? Record the evidence and the limitations, including where the prototype failed.

Build from evidence Use what you learn to narrow the next version. Aim for a product that solves a repeatable problem, with a clear way to evaluate quality. That foundation makes later decisions about AI, design, and scale easier.
